About Doctor Shay Roop

Dr. Shay Roop, R.N., L.M.H.C., Ed.D., is a Fla. licensed mental health counselor and is board certified in Human Sexuality by the American Board of Sexology. She is also a Fla. licensed Registered Nurse. She completed her undergraduate work in psychology at St. Joseph’s College in Windham, ME, and received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Nova University in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. She received her Doctoral degree from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in California. She and her husband own and run Professional Counseling, a counseling center in Clearwater, Fl.

Dr. Roop specializes in women’s issues, sexual dysfunction, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and sees adolescents and adults.

Her newest book, For Women Only: God’s design for female sexuality and Intimacy, will be published early next year.
