SELF WORTH IS A GREAT APHRODISIAC.

§         Self love is a great aphrodisiac. Even the Bible teaches, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

§         Concern over weight and body dissatisfaction has become so prevalent that it is now considerered to be part of the female experience, called ‘normative discontent.’ Of all the reasons for this, the greatest is the sociocultural factors.

§         In western culture thin is synonymous with beauty:  A beauty who is 5 ft 9 in and weighs 110 pounds, the normal models height and weight!  Marilyn Monroe would have been thrown out of Hollywood and put on a diet:  she was a size 14!

§         A major part of self worth is not buying the myth that thinner and younger is better.  Be a first class you not a  second class anyone else.

§         SELF WORTH IS WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT ME.  IT’S ALSO  THE FEELINGS OF HAVING A VALUABLE, PERSONAL, IDENTITY, DESERVING OF ALL GOOD THINGS GOD HAS FOR ME.

ü      FIRST: We need to believe we were created in God’s image and are valuable to Him.  We need to value ourselves enough to eat well, exercise, get adeuqate sleep, get adequate sex, and take care of our spititual, emotional, and physical health.

ü      SECOND:  We need to know who we are to have a personal identity.  Not just John’s wife, or Kim’s mother, but we need to know who we are aside from all the roles we fill.  We also need to stop seeking everyone else’s approval and seek the approval of ourselves and God first.

ü      THIRD:  We need to believe we deserve the very best.  You are never any better than anyone else, but you are always just as good. Self worth make a woman beautiful to her partner, herself, and others.  Our worth comes from God’s approval and unconditional love AND our own appreciation of ourselves.
